Wild Boy is a mixed media installation that combines large format drawings, animation and music in order to examine the yearning and sense of loss that is the hallmark of the sad pop song or ballad. Through an animated two-dimensional talking head that is half human/half beast, Martine Corompt 'wildly' exaggerates these sentiments. Her singing head exists without body or soul. Brought to life via animation and song, it exists without history, purpose or consent, and thus finds itself within a classic Frankenstein-like predicament.
