Pret-a-Porter - Infrastructure Spectaculaire is the result of a ten day reportage commissioned by the French national newspaper Libération. It provides inside views from backstage of the major shows during Paris fashion week in March 2005. The exhibition is a continuation of Klink's visual exploration of production process, image creation, marketing and technological communication. His images short circuit the seduction of glamour and beauty on the catwalk spectacular. By contrasting the shabby and often boring backstage areas with the glamour on the other side, Klink exposes the incongruous juxtaposition of machinery, structural components and support personnel which are part of the immense effort required to stage each 10-15 minute show.
