Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) engages audiences in contemporary photography, promoting appreciation and understanding of contemporary photo-based arts. CCP supports artists and enables audiences to explore photography through exhibitions, publications, education and public programs.
CCP is delighted to be offering this major photograph for the 2010 Limited Edition Print fundraiser, generously provided in an edition of 12 by eminent Australian artist, Simryn Gill.
In her now iconic series, A small town at the turn of the century 1999 - 2000, Simryn Gill invites friends to wear masks of monumental tropical fruit, whilst going about their daily lives in Port Dickson, Malaysia. Critically acclaimed and widely exhibited, this photograph is no longer available. In support of CCP, Simryn Gill is offering this image at 76.2 x 76.2 cm as a new hand-printed edition.
The CCP Limited Edition Print 2010 follows the highly successful and sold out Limited Editions - Bill Henson's Untitled 1985/86/2009 in 2009 and Anne Zahalka's The Bathers 1989/2008 in 2008.
The first prints are available at the CCP fundraiser price of $8,000 and will be framed by Chapman & Bailey, with fundraiser discount (inc GST on frame). NB. credit card purchases attract a 1.5% merchant fee.
Eighty percent of funds raised through Limited Edition Prints enable CCP to support the practice and presentation of contemporary photography through provision of exhibitions, publications, education and public programs, with the artist retaining twenty percent. CCP is most grateful to Simryn Gill for her support.
Simryn Gill is represented by Breenspace, Sydney, and Tracy Williams Ltd, New York.
